Our pedagogy recognizes that our contributions are greater, deeper and more expansive than what can be taught in a single month. We expound on familiar artists’ achievements, expand the canon to include those we may not know, and excavate those whose names history may not record.

Students build their knowledge of cultural masterworks and their creators, deepen their comprehension of the context of these icons, and develop critical understanding through experiential learning.
Creative Curriculum subscribers receive monthly updates to multi-module courses along with other member-only benefits. Lessons in the ICONOGRAPHY series can be purchased individually. Courses cover historical events, periods, and issues through an artistic lens. They are designed for study over multiple sessions. Modules are multi-lesson units of courses with a singular focus. Lessons are single units that can be completed in one session. All content meets National Core Education Standards and the National Arts Standards, but be sure to check with your state education agency for specific standards and requirements in your community. When applicable, lessons also meet National Science Education Standards.
Each month, CCV posts new modules and lessons. Both include lists of resources needed, assignments, quizzes, and activities for students. Although all content is developed for grades 6th-12th, tips and examples of differentiating across grades are included.
